In Loving Memory

Videoblogging Week 2006: Day 7

I failed to make my last post for videoblogging week yesterday, but here it is now! Better late than never. I decided to post something I had already been working on for my mother-in-law. Sadly, Charlie's great grandmother passed away a couple of months ago. I made a tribute video of pictures and video clips to remember her by. She was an amazing lady and lived to be 102! She appeared in one of my earlier videos on her last birthday. She will be missed.

We were gone all day today, and all I had time to do was string together the video clips from today's footage. We went to Florence for my nephews 1st birthday. The hour drive went well with the kids this time, thanks to a DVD player given to us as a gift from my parents! It rained a bit, but fortunately there wasn't a huge downpour, so we were able to celebrate outside. Last but not least, a trip to Krispy Kreme on the way home :)

The excitement over videoblogging week is spreading! Now my family is getting into it. Maddy, and my Mom sat and watched the latest video from completelyknown. Maddy loved it. She's already showing signs of vlog addiction. We had to play it several times for her :) Thanks Anthony!

Music: Somebody's Watching Me - Rockwell and Michael Jackson

Maddy's favorite show these days is Backyardigans. She even has a favorite episode where this certain song comes on and she makes a funny face when she sings it. I was trying to capture it on camera the other day when she realized I was recording her and there were people watching her.

Celebration

Videoblogging Week 2006: Day 3

Yesterday, we celebrated Jordan's 4th birthday. Here is some footage from yesterday's events. My Mom flew in from New Brunswick, Canada as well... so we had a full day! The only editing I did was trimming the clips, and adding a couple of titles. Pretty much raw footage here. Dangerous!!

Today, my daughter is four years old. She is growing up so fast! This video has been in the works for about a month and one reason I haven't posted much. What better time to post it than videoblogging week 2006! Special thanks to Daryl Boyer for letting me use his song!

This is me

Here I am, stepping out from the norm and recording myself for once. I truly hate the way I look and sound on video, but heck... I'm going to post it anyway! So dangerous! I've been videoblogging for almost a year now, and still have yet to do a proper introduction, so I guess you can let this be it. Talking to the camera is definately not easy for me. That's why I let the kids take center stage most of the time. Maybe if I practiced it more, it would come easier. However, my kids are far more entertaining than myself. At least I think so anyway. Enjoy the video (or not!)

Vlogging Dangerously!

Stephanie Bryant put a challenge out to the videoblogging group. One video, per day, all week, starting tomorrow! I'm participating, so stay tuned this week for daily videos from April 3rd to the 9th. I already have a very special post planned for Jordan's birthday on tuesday, but the rest... I'm not sure what I'll do yet! Very very dangerous and scary... but fun :) I feel like I'm in public speaking class and have to do a 5 minute impromptu speech. Come join in the fun, and tag your videos videobloggingweek2006.

Up Country

This is another older video. I have all this older stuff that I want to edit, so from time to time, I will be posting vids from the past. I will still be posting new stuff as well. I watched all of Josh Leo's earlier videos the other day and was reminded of this one when I watched the ones about him visiting his family (which were great by the way!) I am originally from New Brunswick, Canada and moved here when I got married six and a half years ago (wow, has it been that long?!). I try and make it home at least once a year to see my family. My family has kind of dispersed in all directions now, so for the past 3-4 years, we have tried to come together at my Nana and Grampy's summer place we like to call "up country" to catch up with everyone. "Up Country" was one of my favorite places to go as a child. We would get to see all of our cousins, go swimming, play in the woods... all kinds of fun stuff. I have very fond memories of this place. Now all the cousins have children of their own. Jordan was about 16 months when this video was taken, and I was pregnant with Maddy. I found out that summer that a close cousin of mine was also pregnant (we ended up having our girls within two days of each other!) This was one of the first videos I'd ever done. My Dad was behind the camera, and I did the editing later. You can tell by the cheesy transitions.. and I think I ran out of footage near the end so filled it up with pictures! Nevertheless, it was still a hit when we watched it the following year with everyone.

Jordan was a little upset in the beginning of this one because she had fallen in love with my cousin's dog and he went away for a second. I guess she thought he was gone forever! He came back though, and she returned to smiling through her tears. Sorry for the long text post, but I wanted explain a little about this one. Hope you enjoy!
